OK, my schedule is finally focusing on Political Machine again. Luckily,
Joe has been working on the Multiplayer part of the game for the last few weeks
now, so that's shaping up nicely. My current task is to take all the screens
Mr.Boyer has been working on and get them functioning within the
game.
This is not fun.
However, Paul is pretty knowledgeable and organized, so I think we can
develop a solid procedure to get these screens from conception (Paul) to
actualization (Joe), with me playing the middle-man somewhere in-between.
After these screens get into the game, It'll be time to start pumping out the
Character GFX that should give the game alot of its charm. I've been doodling
up some concept for some of the key characters. Most of the Talk Show
hosts will be Characterizations (See 'Barry Prince' from 'Barry Prince Live'
below), with a few other characters being original to the game (the girl shown
below will be the smiley Reporter 'Dorothy Belle' that gives you the
play-by-play on how the candidates are doing).
I can't wait to really get some work done on the Game Show part
of the game...it's gonna be a blast. In the meantime, these game screens
are going to require most of my attention. My current schedule look something
like this...
January - Week 3: Create Game Window, Join Game Window
January - Week 4: Game Setup, Candidate Setup, and Create / Edit
Candidate Windows
February - Week 1: Candidate Details Window and Main
Game Windows
Once I get the Main Game Windows done I should be able to shift
focus to the Game Shows...that's when things get interesting
