Should I Jump on the Band-Wagon

I dont know why, but lately I've developed an itch to start dabbling in the stock market. Actually, I do know why...my younger brother has made several thousand extra bucks just watching that 'Mad Money' show, and investing accordingly.

Now, I don't plan on being a spastic trader like him (putting money in and taking it out the next day), and since I don't have the luxary of living at home I have less cashola to invest, but it still sounds like fun. My questions for you guys are...

1.) Is it worth the time and money? - I know there's always a possiblity of losing, but does the possibily of gaining offset the time and lost cash if things go south?

2.) How much time does it take? - Just picking out a few stocks this weekend and watching them fluxuate already has me checking websites and doing more research than I probably should. Does it end up taking over your life, or is it jsut a fun little diversion (like Fantasy Football)?

3.) Is it a good time to start? - I know the economy is bumpy, should I start now?

4.) What online trading site is the best? - Which sites do you guys use to trade?

Perhaps it's just a passing thing, but it does sound like a fun way to make some extra cash...or perhaps it's just a way to lose it.

I'm sorry that i don't have any experience in this to help you with. I was thinking of doing the same thing, before I got a family and lost all of my disposably income. It could probably be a fun little hobby as long as you don't put more money into stocks than you can afford to lose.
