Give a Virtual Hug to Keep our New Teammates Warm
Published on October 26, 2009 By ScottTykoski In Elemental Dev Journals
Hey Everyone!

While we've been busy on all sorts of things (Betas, mostly), the seats in the office that once collected dust are starting to fill! We've added 3 new people to the team over the last 2 weeks...

Kay Fedewa

Kay is a local Michigan-bred Artist who's spent the last 2 years on the fantastic comic series The Blackblood Alliance. She enjoys playing Demigod as Sedna, and will be taking several of the art related tasks off my plate so I can focus on...ugh...code.  *sigh*

Jakob Medlin

Jakob came all the way from toasty warm Arizona to join our...less than warm posse (I can post those picts 'cause he already signed a 1-year apartment contact). Jakob joins us under the new 'Assistant Producer' role, where he'll be working with Brad, myself, and you guys to polish the game data 'till it shines.

Anthony Salter

This is the only Anthony Salter picture I could find on google images. This isn't the Anthony Salter we've hired, but I really like this kids enthusiasm.

Our Anthony shares a similar enthusiasm (for coding, not basketball) and comes to us from Texas. He just started today, and I'm working on a list of parks where his family can see Michigans beautiful fall colors...before it all turns into this.

Welcome to the team, guys!  Can't wait to take you all sledding in a few months!
edit: Fixed Michigan-bread to prevent additional puns

Kay has nice eyes!

Jakob - I suppose he is the real Hulk?

Kay is a local Michigan-bread Artist eh? So she'll be creating the images for loafs and sandwich-based spells? hukhukhuk.

Congrats to the new hires!

Been around a long time (as you can tell from the thinning grey hair) and I'm pleased as punch to be working at Stardock.

lol  It's funny that Anthony is the nicest, most humble guy...and that's the picture he uses.  Don't be fooled, he wouldn't hurt a fly

I hope he hurts bugs!

Let me guess Kay - cat person?

Lets all give the new guys a warm flame filled welcome!

Welcome!

I was looking through Kay's deviantart gallery. It's really nice work, we should have good foxes, dogs, wolves and cerberi at the very least! I was just wondering if some of the test art work would go on there as well? or better yet on here, have some "which style of horse" threads or better yet the videos for making the icons were really impressive.

(remember, it's viral marketing - sell it by not selling it, on existing social sites. Attract artists through deviantart and other target audiences through other media. If alot of the assets are going to be freely moddable it shouldn't matter if the resources aren't all contained and kept hidden until release - even if you get more "i'd have had the other wolf"/"i prefer the old style" comments)

Congrats and welcome!

Bah, everybody knows real programmers look like this:

Monitor Glow

Gotta have that monitor glow skin or you're just not a code monkey!

Welcome to the team. Have they told you that all rookies have to work as a booth babe at their first PAX? Also, you have to auction your shirt afterwards!

It is true that my oldest daughter is the proud owner of a Stardock staff T-shirt as a result of PAX 09.

Yes, that whole thing got a bit...odd towards the end. Glad we could help clothe your daughter

Welcome aboard!! Don't forget to call Boogie "ScottyDON'T" around the office.

You are all luckier then you know. Getting hired on at a successful games company today is tantamount to winning the lottery. Enjoy it

Why is it I get the feeling that Kay's favorite animated movie is "Balto" Interesting style indeed. I like it, but from a art standpoint it's a little too "Disney" for my personal tastes. Still, it's good work.
