Actually, I wish I would have started sooner....

Proposed new and improved Elfington Design (With Duel Peppermint Blades)

Every year I have the intention of making a Christmas themed game...seriously, I try! But looking back, I see that my plans have been unfulfilled for the last THREE years.

For shame, Scott. For shame.

This streak of laziness changes this year, however, as I'm starting my Christmas Opus FIVE months in advance! I'll still be sure to have some fun the rest of the summer, and you better believe Oblivion is going to suck up some of my free time, but you until the end of November, I have sold my soul to the Game Development devil.

An Ice Thug Costume next to the Real Thing.

Here's my PLANNED feature list (keep this bookmarked so you can harass me with the game is released with only 20% of these)

  • 9-12 Side Scrolling levels: These will be broken up into 3-4 episodes, with 1 episode released each week following Thanksgiving. Fifty bucks says it all comes out as one episode with 2 levels.

Early artwork for the "Taffywood" section of the "Northpole Greenhouse" level.

  • Animated Cartoon Cut scenes: I've really tried to flesh out an interesting plot this time, so having fully animated, voice acted cutscenes would be a perfect way to tell the story. Since this comes second to making the game fun and playable,  It'll be one of the first things to hit the cutting room floor...but hey, it's a nice idea!

Cheesums....A vital character to the plot, or worthless doodle? You'll just have to wait and see...

  • 1-2 Player Simultaneous Gameplay: I was able to do this in "Northpole Showdown" and "Elves Inc.", but I fear it may be more difficult to balance in a sidescroller to get max benefit (designing levels tailored for both a single player and multiplayer experience)...but, this is something I REALLY want.

Panza in full armor after being accepted into the "Knights of the Round Belly".

Wow, that list was shorter than expected...perhaps I will be able to get it done! Of course, each one of those items has about 200 sub-tasks, so we'll see how well it all wraps together. I'll keep ya'll posted on the progress, and you can watch as I slip into the bowels of madness as the short development cycle and personal expectations reduce me to a withering blob of a human!

Wish me luck!

And.....???? Lol, no I think he's cute too. If you're going to spend so much time on the game at home all the time, the least you can do is take some of my suggestions!

Ya know . . . LW Ninja is still one of the games I play the most when I'm waiting for {x}. I don't think I've ever finished a game but still find it fun.

I'll look forward to this.

If you find yourself needing a break, the games here can be fun and a wee bit addictive: http://www.goodexperience.com/games/
